Mallorca, Spain, has been identified as the premier destination for travelers seeking a high-end resort experience, according to a March report by Maui Elite Property.
The study analyzed global luxury hubs based on safety, scenic views, pricing and wellness amenities to determine which locations best replicate the elite lifestyle often depicted in popular culture.
The luxury travel sector is currently expanding at a rate faster than the broader industry, with more than 70% of tourists indicating a preference for resort-based vacations.
Researchers evaluated destinations against the aesthetic and service standards of wellness retreats like those featured in the television series “The White Lotus.”

Mallorca secured the top ranking due to its high density of 5-star accommodations. Evan Harlow, a real estate agent and travel expert, said Mallorca leads the list with great services and accommodations.

“98 out of 100 tourists will be guaranteed a beautiful ocean view behind the window, and that’s something that no other place can offer,” Harlow said. “Almost all destinations on the list have spas and pools. They’re the features that any hotel can build with proper investments, but you cannot buy the view. And over 130 luxurious hotels with spas and outdoor pools will only strengthen this perfect resort fantasy.”
Mallorca edges out other hot resort spots
Maui, Hawaii, followed as the second-best destination. According to the report, Maui is the only location where every luxury hotel features a scenic view, outdoor spa and pool. The study noted that the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, an actual filming location for the wellness-themed show, maintains high service ratings for its villas and cabanas.
Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic ranked third, offering a high volume of luxury rentals and private beaches. Experts noted that Punta Cana remains an affordable option with 5-star rooms averaging $300 per night. The report also highlighted that the area maintains higher safety ratings than other popular tropical destinations such as Mauritius or Cancun.
