Dolly Parton hotel and museum to open in Nashville following her death

A new hotel and museum celebrating the life of country music icon Dolly Parton will officially debut in Nashville later this month, a little more than a month after the singer’s death.

Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel and Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum, created in partnership with Herschend and Dolly Parton Productions, will open their doors to fans in a joint opening later on Sept. 29.

The destinations are billed as a “love letter to Nashville” and aim to honor the entertainer’s extensive career and legacy in the Music City.

The SongTeller Hotel features 245 guest rooms and suites, a cafe and spaces designed to celebrate her artistry.

Entertainment will be a primary focus, anchored by two live venues named Jolene’s and Parton’s Live. Jolene’s is located on the top floor and will offer nightly performances. Parton’s Live, situated on the second floor, is designed to highlight Nashville’s songwriting culture through writer rounds and showcases.

Both venues will serve what officials described as “expertly crafted cocktails” and “elevated small plates.”

Guest reservations for the hotel open Monday, Sept. 14.

The entertainment spaces will begin hosting a lineup that includes Parton’s family members. Parton’s cousin Richie Owens is scheduled to perform Sept. 16 at Parton’s Live. Her niece Jada Star will begin a twice-weekly residency at the same venue starting Sept. 17.

Additionally, company officials said the hotel partnered with FEMcountry, a platform founded by music industry executive Leslie Fram, to feature established female artists during monthly performances.

Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum will span the entire third floor of the hotel, according to a company release.

The space provides an “immersive journey” through Parton’s life using interactive exhibits, beginning with a recreation of the small cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains where she grew up.

Visitors will be guided through the museum by video of Parton herself. Company officials said the footage was filmed earlier this year.

Tickets for the museum become available Sept. 29, the same day the museum opens to the public. The space will also be available for private events.

    Remembering Dolly Parton

Parton died Aug. 25, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer. She was at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center surrounded by loved ones, according to a statement from her publicist.

“Our beloved Dolly Parton spent her life and career bringing joy, laughter, hope and integrity into everything she touched,” Marcel Pariseau told KTLA. “Her unmatched generosity reached the lives of countless people whom she would never meet, yet she was always there to offer a helping hand.”

The 11-time Grammy winner had faced health issues over the previous year, which prompted her to cancel a Las Vegas residency and skip appearances at Dollywood. In May, she updated fans about her condition, noting she had experienced problems with her immune and digestive systems along with kidney stones.

Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, announced her death last month in a video posted on the singer’s social media accounts.

“This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago before I fully absorbed it as a future reality,” Seaver said. “As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven’t truly felt it until now.”

A private memorial service was said to be in the works for members of her immediate family. Relatives requested donations be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
