A limited-time U.S. passport featuring President Donald Trump’s face, likeness and signature is now being rolled out nationwide after originally launching with availability only in Washington.
Released earlier this year as part of the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding, these “Patriot Passports” feature a stern-looking Trump, his signature (previously shown in gold ink in original mock-ups), and other America-centric imagery in the interior of the passport booklet.
“The commemorative passport features custom artwork connecting America’s past to the present, including a portrait of President Donald J. Trump alongside the text of the Declaration of Independence, a Freedom 250 gold flag, and an image of the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence,” according to a release from the U.S. State Department.
When the passport was previously announced in April, the State Department said it would only be available for in-person appointments at the Washington Passport Agency in Washington D.C.

On Thursday, it was announced that a new batch of these passports were heading to all corners of the country due to “overwhelming demand.”
How to get a “Patriot Passport” featuring Trump’s image
The State Department says it is releasing 250,000 additional “Patriot Passports” to the public, which can be acquired during application events at passport agencies across the country.
So far, these application events have been announced at 28 locations across the country, including in some cities that one might consider to be far removed from “Trump Country.”

Appointments are required at each of these passport application events, and can be scheduled by calling 1-877-487-2778. Fees for the “Patriot Passport” are the same as a standard passport application fee.
Where else Trump has inserted his likeness
Since being sworn in for his second term as president, the White House and the Trump Administration have made unprecedented efforts to insert Trump’s name and image on government buildings and official documents, breaking with longstanding tradition of not including living leaders on federal properties.
In December 2025, the State Department added Trump’s name to the United States Institute of Peace.
That same month, Trump announced that the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington would be renamed the Trump-Kennedy Center upon the facility’s reopening. In June 2026, that plan was put on hold after a court ruled that the rebranding broke the law.

Earlier this year, the National Park Service released its 2026 “America the Beautiful” National Park pass, which includes an image of Trump alongside George Washington. It marked the first time in history that a sitting president appeared on the pass, igniting controversy about the design decision.
There are no alternate versions of the National Park pass afforded to the public for purchase that don’t feature the president’s image, unlike the “Patriot Passport,” which is entirely optional—at least for now.
